Pollard Banknote awarded pull-tab ticket contract by the Hoosier Lottery
COUNCIL BLUFFS, IA, Sept. 18 - Pollard Banknote Limited Partnership ("Pollard Banknote") is pleased to announce that the company has entered into a new contract with the Hoosier (Indiana) Lottery for the supply and delivery of pull-tab tickets.
The contract began in August 2006 and signifies the first time Pollard Banknote will be printing pull-tab tickets for the Hoosier Lottery.
The agreement is for a term of four years with an option for the lottery to extend the contract for two additional one-year periods.
The total contract value-including options-is estimated to be nearly $5 million (US).
"The Hoosier Lottery is a new pull-tab customer for Pollard Banknote, and we are thrilled the lottery has chosen to work with us," said Jennifer Westbury, vice president, sales & marketing, Pollard Banknote.
The tickets to be produced for the lottery are cross-redeemable.
Unlike traditional pull-tab tickets that can only be redeemed at the place of purchase, cross-redeemable tickets can be redeemed at any pull tab retailer, and feature a similar security device to the type used in instant scratch-off tickets.
This allows the lottery to validate tickets via their own central computer system.
The cross-redeemable feature enables the lottery to track winners and potentially increase sales, since players are given the flexibility to purchase multiple tickets for themselves or as gifts without having to worry about redeeming them at the point of purchase.
While the new contract is Pollard Banknote's first pull-tab contract with the Hoosier Lottery, the company has been a supplementary supplier of instant scratch-off tickets to the Lottery since 2003.
