The United States Hockey Hall of Fame on Hat Trick Avenue in Eveleth, Minnesota closed its doors earlier this year, citing a lack of money and visitors.

Now, the Michigan Soo is being mentioned in U.S. media reports as one of nine communities expressing interest in becoming the hall's new home.

Other places said to be nibbling at the idea include Detroit, Boston, Atlanta, Anaheim and four places in Minnesota: Duluth, Bloomington, Crookston and St. Paul.

This past week, the City of Eveleth and local legislators announced they want to try to find a way to keep the museum in their community.

Over the years, three Michigan Soo products have been inducted into the U.S. Hockey Hall: Taffy Abel, Vic DesJardins and Muzz Murray.
