SOO FINNISH NORDIC SKI CLUB

Even though the snow hasn't arrived, the Soo Finnish Nordic Ski Club is ecstatic about the upcoming ski season.

On Sunday the Michigan Cup Committee voted unanimously to accept our proposal to host a Michigan Cup race during the weekend of February 17th and 18th.

As quoted from Ernie Brumbaugh one of the members of the selection committee:

"The idea of including the Soo Finnish Ski Club in the Michigan Club passed unanimously and very enthusiastically. Your reputation is and has always been excellent.

"I have been going to your races for 30 years and know very well that your group knows how to put on an excellent race. Plus the idea of Canadian competition was well received.

"Therefore anything you can do to add a Canadian flair to your race would be most welcome. As one member of the committee said, 'Now we are an international series.' Medals with a Maple Leaf maybe?"

This is the first time a Michigan Cup Race has been held in Ontario, and our club looks forward to hosting our friends from Michigan and showing off our great Canadian hospitality.
