U.S. Muslim gets 30 years for plotting Bush assassination

Ahmed Omar Abu Ali, a 25-year-old American Muslim who joined Al Qaeda hardly a year after the 9-11 terrorist attacks, was sentenced today to 30 years in prison.

Ahmed Omar Abu Ali, a 25-year-old American Muslim who joined Al Qaeda hardly a year after the 9-11 terrorist attacks, was sentenced today to 30 years in prison.

He was convicted last year of of providing support to Al Qaeda and conspiring to assassinate the president and to hijack aircraft.

No deaths occurred as a direct result of his involvement, the court was told.
