CBC New Brunswick is reporting that Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Commissioner Gilles Courteau is convening the league's disciplinary committee this afternoon to investigate racist slurs screamed at Ted Nolan and his Moncton Wildcats during and after a Friday-night game in Chicoutimi, Quebec.

Nolan says referees and security guards did nothing to stop the abuse from what media reports indicate was a large crowd of angry fans of the Chicoutimi Sagueneens.

Police assistance was needed to get the Wildcats back to their team bus.

The CBC is also indicating that an announcement is expected later today from management of Chicoutimi Sagueneens.
