The corn was sweet as ever for the 35th Annual Cornfest yesterday on St. Joseph Island. If only we could say the same about the weather.
From the fish pond to the water table to the torrential downpour, there was water, water everywhere.
The wet stuff didn't dampen the spirits of diehard Cornfest fans like Abigail Fazak, who came from Chatham, Ontario to visit her grandparents.
Five-year-old Abigail is seen fishing at the fish pond with her grandpa, John Carlson from the Sault.
Carlson and his wife have had a cabin near Richards Landing for about 30 years and they've been enjoying the Cornfest most every year.
This year, the festival featured three stages for performers such as Andre and the Jaytones, Catherine Taddo and Friends and the Brian Pickell Band.
"Money raised from the pony rides went to the Richard's Landing Children's Library," said Molly Walmsley, pony handler. "We've been bringing Eric and Tas for this about four years now."
There was also a craft tent set up for the kids that doubled nicely as a shelter when the rain came down.
