Meeting Highlights Central Role of the Sault in OLG Organization

Tomorrow’s meeting of the OLG Board of Directors and OLG Senior Management demonstrates the important role Sault Ste. Marie has to OLG operations, said David Orazietti, MPP.

“Our government is committed to strengthening OLG in Sault Ste. Marie and I am pleased the provincial board is again meeting in our community,” said Orazietti. “For over 25 years our city has developed a talented local team of employees which has grown, and in fact, there continues to be jobs available for qualified applicants.”

The OLG board and senior management are meeting at Roberta Bondar Place on Thursday to discuss a variety of issues.

"I am always pleased to be in Sault Ste. Marie, especially with the OLG Board," said Philip Olsson, Chair of OLG's Board of Directors. "The Board is committed to meeting at our head office in the Sault at least once a year. We appreciated the hospitality extended to us last year and look forward to learning more about the city on this visit."

This meeting follows the recent job postings last spring in which 12 new senior management positions were posted.

OLG continues to actively work to expand within the community with 71 positions available in either location.

In 2014, 119 positions were successfully filled in Sault Ste. Marie between the casino and head office location.

OLG continues to play a major role in the community of Sault Ste. Marie providing both well-paying jobs and direct revenue to the city.

To date, Sault Ste. Marie has received more than $24.4 million in non-tax gaming revenue which has been invested in municipal infrastructure projects and in providing important community services.
