The city has just released unofficial results of the petition to repeal the bylaw and disband the business imporvement area.
They received 67 requests to disband, which was not sufficient to meet the 50 percent threshold.
This means the petition was not successful.
The numbers are not lost on us.
These represent concerns and displeasure about the work of the association.
On the other side, it also represents that you, the business and building owners do recognize that there is a distinct change in the way the association operates, and that you are willing to provide the time to continue the restructuring efforts that are well underway, and set a new direction and plan for the street.
There is much work to do for Queenstown, and with our partners in the downtown core, we look forward to working with and for you, and we will strive every day to prove worth and value of the business improvement area.

Manager, Downtown Association
