Construction is coming along at a new commercial building site located at the corner of Second Line East and Old Garden River Road.

Developer and building owner Steve Ficociello, Ficmar Builders Inc. president, confirmed the building will house two tenants when speaking to SooToday Tuesday.

The building, at 163 Old Garden River Road, will be home to an Aurora's takeout location, as well as a new home for The Wellness Store.

Construction of the new building started in early November.

"Both tenants are signed and the opening date is scheduled for October 1," Ficociello said.

Takeout orders from Aurora's, especially pizza, will certainly be a favourite for students at the new St. Mary's College immediately to the east of the building.

"(Development in the north end of the city) is getting stronger, I think with the new school there you're going to see more development east toward Black Road," Ficociello said.

"There will be easy access (for vehicles) off Second Line, the building's very visible from the corner and it's got more of a contemporary look."

Aurora's Westside has been a longtime popular eatery in the Sault, and will remain located at 300 Second Line West.

The Wellness Store will be moving from its current location at Station Mall, and carries a wide range of health products, such as health food, vitamins, minerals, natural remedies, weight loss products, child health products and pet remedies.

Ficmar Builders Inc. was established in 2004.
