SooToday received the following letter from Deborah Rapp, a U.S. resident who sailed into the Sault Friday, which was sent to the staff of the Roberta Bondar Marina.

Dear Virginia,
My husband, John and I sailed into SSM on Friday and were greeted at the dock by very competent, kind marina staff.
And that was only the beginning to a most enjoyable weekend at the Roberta Bondar Marina.
Lauren, Abby, Drew, and all of the rest of your wonderful staff provided the most pleasurable marina experience we have ever had - and we have been sailing through 15 countries in the past 3 years and have stayed at hundreds of marinas.
Your staff went way beyond the service we have become accustomed to at various ports.
When our cell service was interrupted unexpectedly, they let me use the marina phone.
They made calls to various boat stores to help us find what we needed.
They provided transportation on several occasions to grocery stores and other places of business.
And not once did anyone make us feel that we were ‘putting them out’ - but instead they assisted us happily and with personal satisfaction.
They were all so pleasant, kind, competent and professional - four characteristics not found often in one place.
We are aware that this type of ‘genuine’ customer service starts at the leadership level - and that is why we would like to extend our most sincere gratitude to you, Virginia, for having the intuition and experience to hire such wonderful staff.
And our sincere thanks for having a Lake Superior Richardson’s guide available to us this morning.
Although we ended up spending more time here than expected, the weekend surrounded by your extraordinary staff made it all worth the wait.
