NEWS RELEASE

ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION

*************************
On Monday July 27, 2015 at 11 a.m. and 28 degrees, these four (six counting the two at the back) brave souls attended a dedication ceremony at the garden at the bottom of Pim Street.

This garden is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the end of WWII.

In attendance seated from left to right in front:

101-year-old Fred Gard, 92-year-old Fred Middleton, 86-year-old Ed Rowe, and 92-year-old Sir Ken Hocken.

In the back were Leigh Coul and Wayne Paulencu representing Branch 25 Royal Canadian Legion.

We would like to thank Dan Ballstadt, Jeff Marshall and the crew for doing such a phenominal job.

At the ceremony there were city workers making sure the garden was picture perfect.

One was even in a bucket taking pictures from above.

Thank you so much to those city workers in attendance for showing their respect to our WWII vets.
