Drugs and open liquor found in vehicle, woman charged

On Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 11:10 a.m. an officer from the Sault Ste. Marie Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Great Northern Road.

Further investigation revealed a quantity of drugs and open liquor located in the vehicle.

As a result, [charge withdrawn], 28 years, of Montreal, Quebec was arrested and charged with:

  • One count of Possession of a Schedule II Substance – Cannabis Marijuana – under 30 grams as per the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.
  • One count of Possession of a Schedule III Substance as per the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.
  • One count of Driving Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor as per the Liquor License Act of Ontario.

The accused was released on an Appearance Notice to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Sault Ste. Marie on August 24, 2015.
