Workweek Outlook: Bring on the heat

Yesterday recorded the first +30°C at the Sault airport and many locations around the city, and further inland recorded even warmer temperatures.

The start of this work week brings even more heat as an area of slow moving high pressure settles over the region.

Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for the Sault region and we are likely to see this continue for a couple days as temperatures will continue to break the +30°C mark.

Monday brings sunshine and daytime highs above +30°C.

There will be a slight westerly breeze that will provide little relief, but luckily humidex values will only be a few degrees higher with humidity values below 50 percent.

There is a slight chance of the odd shower east of the city, like yesterday, but chances are slim.

Tuesday ramps up the heat just another notch as widespread daytime highs climb into the low 30s.

Some inland locations could see +35°C.

Clouds do build through the day and into the evening.

A cold front crosses the region Wednesday morning to bring rain and storms before noon, with cooler air arriving during the afternoon.

Temperatures will drop to the mid-20s.

Sunshine along with more seasonal temperatures in the low to mid-20s arrives on Thursday and Friday as we head into the long weekend.
