Meet the new East Algoma OPP Commander

BLIND RIVER – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) North East Region is pleased to announce that Staff Sergeant Yves Forget has been promoted to the rank of Inspector. 

On July 20, 2015, he assumed the Detachment Commander role for East Algoma OPP.

Inspector Forget has been a member of the Ontario Provincial Police for over 27 years and brings a wide range of experience to his new position. 

He has served as a general patrol officer in White River, Caledon and Sturgeon Falls detachments. 

He worked in crime and with the Alcohol & Gaming Commission (AGCO) where he was promoted to Detective Sergeant in 2001. 

He then transitioned to specialize in traffic functions within North East Region as an area Traffic Sergeant in 2003 until his promotion as a Staff Sergeant Detachment Commander in Noelville in 2012. 

“A welcome addition to the East Algoma OPP, Inspector Forget’s continued leadership will be valued by the communities the OPP proudly serves” says Chief Superintendent Fern Labelle.

“I am honored to have been selected as the new Detachment Commander for the East Algoma detachment and I look forward to work with all of its members and communities within our service area” states Inspector Yves Forget.
