Police check Lake George, Sault man charged with over 80

MACDONALD, MEREDITH & ABERDEEN ADDITIONAL TOWNSHIP - On July 1, 2015 members of the Sault Ste. Marie Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Marine Unit were conducting safety compliance checks of small vessels on Lake George.

As a result of one of those compliance checks and further investigation Peter BOWERS, 52 years, of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario was arrested and charged with the following:

  • One count of Operate a Vessel with Over 80 mgs. of Alcohol as per the Criminal Code of Canada

  • One count of Fail to Produce Pleasure Operator Card as per the Small Vessels Act of the Canada Shipping Act

  • One count of Consuming Liquor in Other Than Licensed Premises, Residence or Private Place as per the Liquor License Act.

The accused was released on a Promise to Appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Sault Ste. Marie on August 10, 2015.
