SAULT STE. MARIE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

As a new fiscal year for the Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce began on July 1, 2015, Monica Dale, Commercial Account Executive with Dawson & Keenan Insurance Ltd. succeeded the role as President of the Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce for a one year term.

She takes over from Mark Barsanti who held the position in an extended term of office from January 1, 2014 to June 30, 2015.

As Chamber President, Monica looks forward to advancing her community involvement and is enthusiastic about building relationships to assist with driving the Chamber’s 3 Year Strategic Plan to strengthen the Chamber and it’s advocacy work.

“The positive momentum and the work that the Chamber Board, volunteers and staff have invested into steering us back to our core business of advocacy work for our business community is an important step to the future of our Chamber and working towards the ultimate goal of ensuring Sault Ste. Marie is the best place to do business” she notes.

Monica also indicated “she looks forward to building and fostering relationships with members of the Chamber, the Mayor and members of City Council, the Sault Ste. Marie Economic Development Corporation and other community groups."

Past President, Mark Barsanti, stated, “Ms. Dale is the right person, at the right time to take the Chamber to the next level in its evolution. She has been involved and committed to the Chamber for many years, making her the right choice to ensure that the business community is properly and effectively represented on issues that matter to them.”

In addition to her involvement with the Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce, Monica is Chair of the IBAO (Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario) Young Brokers Council, A Board member of OSAID (Ontario Students Against Impaired Driving), Past President of SIBA (Sault Insurance Brokers Association) and a Board liaison for STRIVE Young Professionals Group; a committee of the Chamber of Commerce. Monica Dale along with members of the Chamber Executive will officially take their oath of office on Monday, August 10, 2015 before Mayor Christian Provenzano in council chambers.
