Sault Ste. Marie celebrated in style as the nation marked it’s 148th birthday Wednesday.
The annual Canada Day festivities at the Bondar Pavilion featured games and activities, face painters, competitions and prizes, balloon artists, live entertainment, master of ceremonies Timothy Murphy, and (of course) fireworks.
Music was provided by The Royal Canadian Legion Band, Morgan Steele, The Hustle Brothers, The Boothill Crooners, Washboard Hank, and Mustang Heart.
As a special treat, The Musical Comedy Guild revealed some of the cast from its upcoming production of Mary Poppins, including Mike Doherty, Art Fink, Kevin Collar, Lou Mauro, Ryan Mauro (Michael Banks), Avery Hemsworth (Jane Banks), and Shana Brown (Mary Poppins).
Directed by Timothy Murphy, Mary Poppins will be staged for the very first time in Sault Ste. Marie November 25 through 29, 2015.
