Pellet gun prompts lockdown at two district schools

ELLIOT LAKE – The Ontario Provincial Police in Elliot Lake received a call on June 25, 2015 at approximately 1:31 p.m. regarding a male walking with a suspected rifle in the area of Bouck Road and Mississauga Avenue. 

Due to the nature of the call the Adult Education School and Elliot Lake Secondary School were both placed on lockdown.

Police located the suspect within minutes and determined that the rifle was a pellet gun.

Code Red was then lifted at both schools.

No one was injured.

Students are reminded not to take items to school that may be mistaken for a weapon.
