At 12:38 p.m., on Sunday (also Father’s Day), summer will official arrive.

This will mark the longest day of the year, and typically marks the beginning of the warmest weather each year.

Unfortunately, someone forgot to wakeup Mother Nature for summer this year, as less than ideal summer weather awaits us in the coming days.

Friday will bring mainly sunny skies with a few passing clouds.

Temperatures will climb to near +20°C, which is below normal for the end of June.

Typical daytime highs for this time of year should be closer to 22-23°C.

Clouds move in for Saturday with daytime highs again a couple degrees below normal.

By late afternoon the risk of showers arrives and lingers into the evening.

A mix of sun and cloud is likely for Father’s Day and the start of summer on Sunday.

Gusty northwest winds will bring in cooler air as daytime highs will only climb into the lower teens.

Longer range forecasts indicate that our next chance of true summer like weather arrives by the middle of next week.
