Crime of the Week: Wallet Stolen from Mac’s on Wellington Street East

Crime Stoppers and the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service are seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect in a wallet theft, which was caught on camera at the Macs Mart on Wellington Street East.

On May 6, 2015, at approximately 7:20 a.m. a customer purchased some products from the Macs Convenience store and while doing so he placed his wallet on the counter.

The customer later forgets his wallet on the counter and proceeds to exit the store.

The suspect comes along at 7:27 a.m. and takes the wallet.

The male suspect appeared to be in his 20’s, with a shaved head and no facial hair.

He was wearing a plaid jacket that was blue and green, a grey or white hooded sweater, and carried a red backpack.

The male suspect made several attempted purchases using the stolen cards.
