The Beer Store wants your bottles. Even more than usual (5 photos)

The Churchill Plaza Beer Store location was abuzz today. And while bottle returns are not out of the ordinary, this weekend's returns are going to help those suffering from Leukemia.

The Churchill Plaza Beer Store location was abuzz today.

And while bottle returns are not out of the ordinary, this weekend's returns are going to help those suffering from Leukemia.

Held each May in partnership with the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 12R24 and The Beer Store, Returns For Leukemia raises funds for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada.

Now in its ninth year, the bottle drive has raised an impressive $10 million to support Leukemia research, and offers aid to patients and their families.

Beer Store customers are invited to donate a portion or all of their bottle refund to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Support can also be made via direct monitory donation or through the purchase of silent auction ballots.

One hundred percent of the donations made to Returns For Leukemia go directly to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada.

Beer Store Manager Andy Cliffe told SooToday that his branch traditionally ranks very well during the province-wide charity event.

While the store's fundraising target for this year is $15,000 (which would likely see them in first place), Cliffe is confident the dedication and hard work of his staff and team of volunteers will place his branch in the top three.

Returns For Leukemia continues today until 9:30 p.m. and runs Sunday, May 24 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
