U.S. CUSTOMS AND BORDER PROTECTION

DETROIT - U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Office of Field Operations at the International Bridge in Sault Ste. Marie, MI announce the arrest of an individual wanted for a variety of criminal allegations including extortion and criminal enterprise.

On May 10, 2015, CBP Officers encountered a single female attempting entry into the United States at the International Bridge.

A document query at the primary booth resulted in a National Crime Information Center (NCIC) alert for a wanted person by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Department.

A fingerprint verification confirmed the arrest warrant.

The female, a resident of Kincheloe, Michigan, was arrested and turned over to Sault Ste. Marie Police.

“I commend the officers for their actions in apprehending this wanted person”, said Patrick Wilson, Sault Ste. Marie Port Director. “CBP Officers remain vigilant in keeping our communities safe.” said Wilson.

All persons accused of crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court proceedings.
