Lake Superior State University's Investment Club and their faculty advisor, accounting professor Gerry Root, are thumbs up and all smiles after their stock portfolio took top honors at an international asset management competition held last month in New York City.

The club won first place in the core style portfolio undergraduate division during the Global Asset Management Education II Forum, beating out 154 other undergraduate and graduate teams from schools from all over the world.
