ADSB advises that today was "quiet and uneventful" at Elliot Lake Secondary School.

"Algoma District School Board will continue to be in contact with the OPP over the weekend and will provide any updated information on Sunday," said a statement from the board.

1:25 p.m. update:

A 'code green' status, which saw all exterior doors at Elliot Lake Secondary School locked yesterday, was lifted at the end of the school day and not re-instated today, the board confirms.

While OPP told SooToday this morning that online threats involved both students and staff, ADSB says it has no information about threats against staff.

The board has described the threats as "cyber-bullying."

A board spokesperson was unable to comment on whether or not an incident had taken place at the school.

Original story:

Ontario Provincial Police are at an Elliot Lake high school for a third straight day as a “precautionary measure” says the Algoma District School Board, after what police say are threats against students and staff.

Elliot Lake Secondary School was placed on partial lockdown Wednesday after what police are describing as "ongoing threats through social media."

"These threats were being made to Elliot Lake Secondary School staff and students," said Sgt. Carolle Dionne, an OPP spokesperson based in North Bay.

Dionne said no other details are being released for "operational reasons."

She said an investigation into the threats is underway.

A note on the board’s website this morning advises that classes are set to continue but the school’s entrances and exits were being monitored.
