Vehicle seen swerving. Now it's impounded

WAWA – On March 23, 2015 at approximately 1:38 p.m., members of the Superior East Wawa Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) while conducting general patrols on Highway 17 in the Vasiloff Township observed a small automobile swerving within its lane.

Officers stopped the automobile in question and spoke to the male driver.

As a result Jacobs MATHEW, 30, of Pic Mobert Ontario was arrested and charged with the following offences;

  • Driving with more than 80 mgs of Alcohol in Blood contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
  • Fail to Comply with Recognizance contrary to section 145(3) of the C.C.C.

 A 90-day driver’s licence suspension was issued and his vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

The accused was released from custody and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Wawa on May 11, 2015.
