EXIT Realty Lake Superior, Real Estate Brokerage, is pleased to announce that $2,500 was raised to benefit local dual lung transplant recipient, Gary Duke.

On November 20, 2014, EXIT Realty Lake Superior hosted “A Movie for A Cause” at Galaxy Cinemas, with all proceeds being donated to Gary and his family to help with ongoing medical expenses.

On July 4, 2014 Gary Duke underwent a double lung transplant in Toronto, a surgery that saved his life.

He has been travelling back to Toronto for regular checkups since, and much of those expenses are not covered by OHIP.

“When we heard about the amount of ongoing expenses associated with Gary’s travel, we wanted to do what we could to help” Said Rob Trembinski, Sales Representative and Managing Partner with Exit Realty Lake Superior. “We wanted to do something different, and since Gary is a fan of movies, we reached out to Galaxy to see if they could help. They were excited to be a part, and we started to make plans.”

The original goal set for the event was to raise $1,000, a number that was well surpassed.

One hundred and twenty five people braved a blizzard to come to see “Dumb and Dumber To”, and Gary and Sherry Duke were presented with a $2,500 cheque on December 9, 2014.

“We are so thrilled that a company like Exit cares enough to help us with out ongoing medical costs. We are so touched by the gesture” said Gary.

“The Team at Exit really stepped up and were excited to help out. We were very excited about the turnout and the amount we were able to give to Gary and Sherry.” Said Rob. “I sincerely hope it makes a difference for them”
