Lucy Healey turns 100 today, but the children at Jessie Irving Daycare wanted to get the jump on wishing her a happy birthday yesterday over at Kotitalo.
They couldn't be there themselves so they sent Maria Guido and Theresa Palarchio, registered early childhood educators from the centre, with a cake and card for Lucy.
Her friend Mae and Krystal Sonoc, Kotitalo activities aid, joined the ladies from Jessie Irving in singing Happy Birthday to Lucy.
Lucy was born in a farmhouse in Bellevue.
She raised five boys and lived in the Sault area all her life.
Her secret to a long life? Be a good person.
The kids from Jessie Irving visit Kotitalo (The Ontario Finnish Resthome) every Tuesday and participate in a variety of activities with the residents.
"The residents look forward to their visits," said Sonoc.
