Participants in this year’s Bell Celebrity Skate and Swim presented by Agero raised $79,329.05

The Rotary Club of Sault Ste. Marie has been blown away by the tremendous efforts of the young people throughout our community who came together over the past couple of months to raise $79,329.05 as part of Rotary’s Bell Celebrity Skate and Swim presented by Agero for Rotary youth projects.

A very special mention goes to this year’s top fundraiser, Joshua Hales-Leppanen, who worked with his sister to raise over $6,000!

He went home with this year’s top prize: an Xbox One.

We are grateful for Joshua and the many other kids who put time and effort into making a difference in the lives of other youth in our community.

The future of the Sault is in good hands!

Other top fundraisers:

Connor Zanini raised $1800 and took home an iPad Mini
Forrest Berry raised $721.85 and received a bicycle
Aaron Posteraro raised $653.35 and won an autographed Soo Greyhounds jersey
Dale Armstrong raised $590 and brought home a Brad Marchand autographed Bruins jersey

The top fundraising team this year was Meyers Munchies who raised over $12,925.49.

They will receive a pool party at the John Rhodes Community Centre.

It looked like Easter Seals Ambassador Billy Adam had a great time too!

Billy was part of the opening ceremonies, met the Greyhounds, and was zoomed around the ice by different players.

About The Rotary Club of Sault Ste Marie

The Rotary Club of Sault Ste. Marie has been an active part of the community since 1918.

Its primary charitable mandate is to offer support to children with physical disabilities.

This is done in close partnership with Easter Seals Ontario through fundraising projects such as the Take Your Pick Car Draw, Snowarama, TD Canada Trust Change for Change in the Lives of Easter Seals Children, Easter Seals Telethon and Battle of the Sections.

The Club also supports community-building events like ROTARYFEST, Student Exchange programs, Bell Celebrity Skate and Swim Presented by Agero, District Science Fair presented by Tenaris Algoma Tubes and the Sault Ste. Marie Sports Awards dinner.
