Former CBC Radio host Jian Ghomeshi was in court today after the Toronto Police Service charged him with four counts of sexual assault.
In a news release issued this morning, the department said Ghomeshi surrendered to Police and also faces one count of overcome resistance - choking.
CBC dismissed Ghomeshi on October 26 after being shown 'graphic evidence' that the former host of Q had engaged in activities that inflicted physical injury upon a woman.
Nine women have since alleged that Ghomeshi had assaulted them, either physically or sexually.
Three of his accusers have filed official police complaints.
Immediately following his dismissal, Ghomeshi filed a $55 million lawsuit against the broadcaster.
That lawsuit was dropped yesterday and Ghomeshi must reimburse CBC $18,000 for legal costs.
