With OTF support, nonprofit groups are building healthy and vibrant communities

Today, the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) announced new investments in nonprofits and charities across Ontario.

With OTF support, local organizations are having a measurable impact on communities across this province by providing services that matter and strengthening local economies.

Through the exciting new investments announced today, community organizations will have the support they need to do important work in a diverse range of fields – like Royal Canadian Legion Branch in Espanola and Eat Local Sudbury Co-operative Inc.

OTF’s strategic investments are supporting programs and projects that we know contribute to community wellbeing.

In addition to 266 community grants, with 14 of those grants in Algoma, Cochrane, Manitoulin & Sudbury, OTF has announced 20 grants that will support larger, province-wide projects.

We are proud to work with groups that operate at the local level, as well as partner organizations that work on a larger scale.

Quick Facts

  • OTF is the largest granting foundation in Canada, and our participatory model of grantmaking means that local volunteers in each of 16 areas are responsible for selecting successful grants.
  • OTF is a provincial agency that awards about 1,300 grants every year, and more than one in five organizations that receive OTF grants are run solely by volunteers.
  • OTF has a mandate to fund across four sectors: social services, environment, arts and culture, and sports and recreation.
