(BLIND RIVER, ON) – On October 2, 2014, officers with the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a collision involving a tractor trailer and a pedestrian on Highway 17 between Serpent River First Nation and Spanish.

As a result of the injuries sustained in the collision, the pedestrian, Jacob MIMEAULT, 19, of Serpent River First Nation succumbed to his injuries on October 26, 2014.

OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) along with members of the East Algoma OPP Detachment are continuing their investigation into this matter.
