Poor road conditions close Highways 17 and 548 (Update: all open)

Ontario Provincial Police report Highway 548 is now open in both directions as is the St. Joseph Island.

Ontario Provincial Police report Highway 17 is now open in both directions but traffic is slow.

Highway 17 at Highway 548 and Highway 548 up to and including the St. Joseph Island bridge were closed to be de-iced. 

Highway 548 and the bridge remain closed at this time.

Blind River Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police report Highway 17 is closed at Highway 548.

Highway 548 is also closed up to and including St. Joseph Island bridge.

Police say poor road conditions have forced the highway closures and the anticipated duration of the closures is unknown.

The OPP will distribute details and updates of the road advisory as information becomes available.

Please do not call O.P.P. Provincial Communication Centres for road advisory updates or road condition information.
