Robbery at two stores, Jody arrested

On October 8, 2014 it is alleged that the accused Jody Burns, age 20, entered Shoppers Drug Mart at 44 Great Northern Road and did steal electronic equipment.

On being approached by an employee the accused lunged at the employee who moved out of the way to stop the chance of being injured.

The accused fled on foot.

On October 9, 2014 it is alleged that the accused entered Savoy Jewellers in the Station Mall, selected a diamond ring and left the store without paying.

Police located the accused a short time later and arrested him for theft under $5,000 and breach of probation.

While at the police station further charges were laid as a result of the accused’s action at Shoppers Drug Mart on October 8, 2014.

Upon being searched the ring taken in the theft at Savoy Jewellers was located on his person.

The accused was charged with robbery, breach of probation and possession of stolen property.

The accused will appear in bail court on October 10, 2014 at 10 a.m.
