Two impaired charges

HODGINS TOWNSHIP -  On September 26, 2014 a R.I.D.E. check was conducted on Highway 532 in Searchmont.

At approximately 9:45 p.m., a pickup truck travelling southbound was stopped, and open liquor was observed in the vehicle. 

As a result of further police investigation Ghislain MORIN, 37 years old, of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario was arrested and charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle with over 80 milligrams of Alcohol contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused was also charged with driving a motor vehicle with liquor readily available and driving a motor vehicle with open liquor contrary to the Liquor Licence Act of Ontario.

The accused was released on a Promise to Appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario on October 27, 2014.

FENWICK TOWNSHIP – On September 28, 2014 OPP were conducting R.I.D.E. checks on Goulais Bay Road.

At approximately 4:40 p.m. a pickup truck was stopped.

The driver exhibited signs of alcohol impairment.

As a result of police investigation Christopher DENNY, twenty-nine years old of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario was arrested and charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle with over 80 milligrams of alcohol contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused was released on a Promise to Appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario on October 20, 2014.
