The Sault Ste. Marie Downtown Association hosted a street party to celebrate the Soo Greyhounds home season opener Friday night from 5 to 7 p.m.

The young lad pictured above, seven-year-old Greyson McBain, told us that he has been following the Hounds for two years and is a big fan of Sergey Tolchinsky.

He was the lucky winner of last night's draw for an autographed Greyhounds jersey that will likely fit him into adulthood.

Last night's celebration included live entertainment from Crossroad and a licensed beer garden that included tasty suds from the Sault's own Outspoken Brewing.

The Greyhounds came away from the home opener with a 7-3 win over the Sarnia Sting.

Our boys play the Niagara IceDogs tonight at the Essar Centre.
