Admissions advisors are coming to a school near you

The Ontario Universities' Fair (OUF), happening this Friday until Sunday, marks the official start of the annual recruitment season for universities and colleges across Ontario.

Algoma University Admission Advisors will be on hand at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (MTCC) to discuss Algoma U with prospective students and families from across the province.

Local Grade 11 and 12 students considering university should attend the university information session on Wednesday, October 1 at White Pines Collegiate and Vocational School from 7 p.m.-8:30 p.m.

Representatives from the 21 different Ontario universities will be on hand to answer questions.

Parents and guardians are also welcome to attend.

Prospective students and families are also encouraged to attend Algoma University's Fall Preview event, happening on Tuesday, November 4, where participants have the opportunity to meet with the University President, faculty, staff, and sit in on lectures. 

"We encourage all students and families to attend the university information sessions and our open house event if possible," said Director of Student Recruitment Brent Krmpotich. "Our Admissions Advisors are here to answer any questions, and provide students with valuable information about Algoma University that will help you make an informed decision about choosing the right university before the Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC) deadline of January 14." 

Sault Ste. Marie visits will occur on Tuesday, October 14 and Wednesday, October 15, with stops at Korah Collegiate, Superior Heights Collegiate and Vocational School, St. Mary's College, St. Basil Secondary School, and White Pines.

Regional Algoma visits will be on Thursday, October 16, Friday, October 17, and Friday, November 7, with stops in Desbarats, Blind River, Elliot Lake, and Espanola, respectively.

Students should check with their guidance counsellors to confirm dates and times.
