Civic holiday operations

CITY OF SAULT STE MARIE

Several City-operated facilities will be closed Monday, August 4, 2014 due to the Civic statutory holiday:

• Cemetery office
• Centennial Library and Churchill and Korah branches
• Children’s Centres - Jessie Irving and Maycourt. Best Start is closed July and August.
• Civic Centre
• Essar Centre office and Box Office
• Public Works and Transportation office. For 24 hour emergency service requests call 705-759-5201.
• Seniors’ Centres (Drop-In and Steelton)
• Social Services (Ontario Works, Social Housing, Community Child Care, and Accessibility office)
• Transit office

Community Centres

The Essar Centre and the Northern Community Centre are closed August 4.

John Rhodes Community Centre arenas are open for scheduled events only.

The McMeeken Centre is closed for the season.

Ermatinger∙Clergue National Historic Site: open Monday, August 4 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Marine Facilities

Bellevue Marina is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Roberta Bondar Marina is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The recreational lock at the Sault Canal will be open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Pools

John Rhodes Community Centre Pool is open 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the Parent/Child and lane swim and from 1:30 – 4 p.m. for public swim.

Peter G. Manzo Pool and V.E. Greco Pool are open 1 to 7 p.m., weather permitting.

Refuse and Recycling Collection

No collection Monday, August 4. Collection for the balance of the week will be one day late. Refuse, recyclables, leaf and yard waste must be placed curbside by 7:30 a.m. to ensure pickup.

The landfill site will be closed Monday, August 4 and will re-open on Tuesday, August 5 at 8 a.m.

Transit Services

Regular transit and Parabus service will operate Monday, August 4. Regular transit will run hourly leaving the terminal at quarter to the hour.

There will be no Community Bus service. For additional transit information call 705-759-5438.
