Jamestown stabbing results in murder charges (4 photos)

Friday, July 18, 2014   by: SooToday.com Staff

The scene of an argument that escalated to a murder in Jamestown is sombre and quiet as police collect evidence.

A witness explains that the victim and alleged murderer were both in their 40s and that the accused lived in an apartment overlooking the scene of the crime.

"The guy [accused] had been in and out of his place arguing with his girlfriend a couple times," said the witness, who didn't want to be identified. "[The victim] went over there the last time they came out and then this happened."

The witness, a friend of the victim, described the victim as a good family man and said his last action before leaving his near-by apartment last evening was to hug his 17-year-old daughter and tell her he loved her.

"He was getting ready to leave town for work for a while," said the witness of the victim.

Police are on the scene continuing their investigation.

The Soup Kitchen Community Kitchen and businesses adjacent to the scene are still accessible and the soup kitchen will be serving food today as usual.

SooToday.com will update this story when more information becomes available.
