Music and interactive outdoor exhibits planned for Saturday July 26

The Kensington Conservancy, Clean North, Central Algoma Freshwater Coalition (CAFC), and the Rural Agri-Innovation Network today announced the Green Expo: Steps to Sustainability lineup of events to be held Saturday, July 26 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Desbarats, Ontario.  

The annual Green Expo includes local food, interactive exhibitors, activities for adults and children, and the Johnson Farmer's Market.

All events are open to the general public.

Featured family events at this year’s expo include The Kensington Conservancy’s Junior Explorers, Gerald’s Reptiles, and Perfectly Painted Faces.

The Junior Explorers, a new environmental education and outdoor appreciation program will have a scavenger hunt during the Expo.

The theme of Green Expo 2014 is Steps to Sustainability where attendees and vendors will be invited to share the steps they are taking to become more environmentally sustainable.

“We are happy to welcome everyone to get in step at this exciting annual event. This year’s Expo will be a lot of fun for families and kids” said Tanna Elliot, Executive Director, The Kensington Conservancy.

Other highlights of the Green Expo this year include:  

  • Nottingham's Archery – aim and shoot all day at this interactive exhibit for adults and children, with prize giveaways.  A two dollar cover for shooting is required.
  • CAFC Pancake Breakfast – enjoy a pancake breakfast, hosted by CAFC, starting at 9:00 a.m. for the public. Breakfast tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for children.
  • Artists – Doug Hook, Grum Paddles, Thinking Rock Community Arts, & Infinite Style. And many more!

Join fellow community members, adults, children, and students for the 2013 Green Expo: Steps to Sustainability, a one-day event for those interested in green living in the Algoma region.
