Oreo cookie 6/11/2014 1:01:42 PM Report have been counted...the Thought POLICE are adamant that all "collectivists" be in attendance. Mandatory income redistribution will ensure that the dissemination of useless information is not interrupted by the truth ergo "the great socialist society" survives. Long live the failed philosophy of Marxism.

I think you mean - "Get ready to grab your ankles."

i think you mean "if you don't like unions then don't join one"... at least that's what you should have said.

any rumors on what the deal is?

It won't be anything different than 2251 received last year. If so, the differences will be minor.

What have the unions ever done for us?
I'm In 6/11/2014 5:06:14 PM Report

freedom1: unions bargained for health and safety @ the workplace, decent wages which no employer would give out of kindness, free healthcare which the right wing parties are stripping every working middle/poor class of. Oreo cookie and you can pay for all of this out of the riches that you have. Oreo cookie is a perfect name for this clown cause I'd like to slam dunk him in the milk:

Well its common knowledge that Essar owners don't like unions.... They like 2724 far less!!!!
freedom1 6/11/2014 6:03:33 PM Report

I'm In: Sorry you misunderstood my post. If you checked the link, I think you would of seen that. I think you would be silly not to have a Union for most jobs. Police, teachers, nurses ect. most well paying jobs are because of unions. Unions created the middle class. Otherwise you have peasants and royalty. That is where we are headed rich getting richer and poor getting poorer. The government is trying to get rid of the Unions so careful who you vote for. Learn what each political party did or didn't do for Unions.

Without unions, workers will lose many of the protections against abusive employers. Wages for all will be depressed, even as corporate profits soar. The American Dream will be destroyed for millions. And we will have a government of the corporations, by the already powerful, for the wealthy. —Kenneth Bernstein, teacher and blogger, in a 2011 opinion piece on the Wisconsin measure to strip public employees of collective bargaining rights

2724 could come out smelling like sweet roses.
2724 are specialists at polishing apples.

HOWEVER... Should 2724 wait too long and holdout, then Essar releases the last quarter numbers (that are long overdue) showing the tidal wave of red ink.. 2724 will lose any positive position after this release. Essar are good at playing the media game.

50% -60% of the 2724 positions could be contracted out. Essar is well on their way to contracting out the majority of positions. Just ask the 2251 members how many contractors are in the plant on a daily basis filling old 2251 positions.

Essar has little respect for this town or the people who work for them let alone 'unionized middle managers'! Should 2724 not play the game correctly they may be sitting out side the gate on August 1/2015.

Wouldn't that be Ironic.

Hey milk dunker...are you aware of just how many UNION members are out of work? And where does your"free" health care actually come from? if you think health care is free then you truly are a good union member...your executive board and representatives love the fact that the Rank and file fraternity is economically dyslexic.
And where did I ever state that I was Anti Union?
