An airport employee tells me that Porter is near done servicing the Sault since other(s) are matching rates.
dadal 6/8/2014 11:28:46 AM Report

Since when does Air Canada match Porter rates??? Last time I checked prices, Air Canada was more than double from the Soo to Toronto.
Beej 6/8/2014 11:45:56 AM Report

Don't shoot the messenger :)
This statement came from an airport employee that said Porter isn't making enough money since other(s) started matching rates.
Funny, Air Canada was mentioned.
Is there another, West Jet?
wandering 6/8/2014 12:45:12 PM Report

i am sure west Hundies company will take over their flag will be at the Town Hall soon
lp670-4 Super Veloce 6/8/2014 5:08:56 PM Report

@Beej
That is 100% not true. And i wouldnt bet on Westjet coming here. there is no room to accommodate them and porter is doing just fine and isn't going anywhere, anytime soon.
TFinn 6/8/2014 5:17:15 PM Report

Nope .... don't shoot the messenger ...shoot the rumour starter instead .. lol
Javaman 6/8/2014 5:39:20 PM Report

Everyone I know fly's PORTER. Air Canada screwed us over for years. I would fly PORTER even if I had to pay more. I would be surprised PORTER is not happy with the Soo connection.
nanajunebug 6/8/2014 6:16:28 PM Report

They left at 5:35 this evening like they said they were ...just the one flight was cancelled as far as we knew....they were generous though they gave every person a one hundred dollar voucher to be used for future travel....
nanajunebug 6/8/2014 6:18:28 PM Report

Actually as far as their rates go..a friend of mine is flying this week and Air Canada ended up being cheaper which I found hard to believe but apparently it was so...
PS64 6/8/2014 7:14:38 PM Report

I just paid Porter $107 each way. Air Canada will NEVER match that.
ThinkAgain 6/8/2014 9:18:29 PM Report

An angry employee pulled the fuse when he walked off the job, lol
dobar 6/8/2014 9:49:20 PM Report

West Jet used to be here, but you had to fly to Hamilton to go any where...I have not yet flown Porter, but have heard they are fabulous
Wobbler 6/9/2014 1:09:10 AM Report

Air Canada's cheapest rate right now is $199.00 one way.
Frio 6/9/2014 7:44:15 AM Report

Air Canada, SSM to Toronto $394.65 return, Porter $393.52 return..If you want to go almost anywhere else in Canada and the world you have to go to Pearson International Airport anyway, Air Canada's hub.
trj 6/9/2014 8:27:54 AM Report

You can get seat sales if not in a hurry making Porter way cheaper but now Porter charges for checked bags $25. each way plus tax over $58. Air Canada is not charging yet so if the prices are close and you need to go to Pearson it would not be wise and maybe even costing more to fly Porter.
