Are you worried Kathleen?

Tuesday, May 27, 2014   by: SooToday.com Staff

NEWS RELEASE

NDP CANDIDATE CELIA ROSS

**************************
Kathleen Wynne’s visit to Sault Ste. Marie shows Liberals are worried across the North

“They have good reason to be scared,” said NDP campaign chair, Gayle Broad. “We’re hearing that people are tired of the waste and corruption scandals.  They’re sickened that this government wasted $3 billion of taxpayers’ money. People are saying it’s time for a change,” said Broad.

After being grilled by Andrea Horwath in the Northern Ontario leader’s debate for corruption and inaction on the Ring of Fire, hydro rates, and creating jobs, Wynne began a damage-control tour across Northern Ontario ridings where the NDP stand to make gains.

“We’re in a tight race in Sault Ste. Marie and the Liberals are worried that people will choose leadership that makes sense and respects Northerners,” said Broad.

the unfortunate thing is the NDP contributed to the Liberal mess by supporting them for so long. Now that public opionion has swayed for both the Fiberals and the NDP , horwath does not support the budget and an election is necessary. PC is the only viable choice for this city and this province.

The same 3 old parties, saying the same old things.. blah blah blah

BOOOOORRRRRIIINNNGGGGG

What would happen if we all got together and let another party run the show for a term, like the Green party?
johnnyc 5/27/2014 10:57:23 AM Report

If you think PC is a viable choice...please carefully research their party platform...

And if you think the 'Rae Days' were a bad time in history, I'd much rather take unpaid days off to help the deficit, rather than lose my job entirely.

Glad you said it Johnnyc....as I was just about to. The conservatives as usual are far too extreme.

Extreme times call for extreme measures.

....or common sense
MarcHandthefunkybunch 5/27/2014 11:41:03 AM Report

Gayle Broad is more screwed up then Ross. Two people who are on the record saying, "David Orazetti is the best thing to happen for this city and this school in a long time."
They said that when they credited Ozo for Algoma U getting its independence.
derand2 5/27/2014 11:44:29 AM Report

"TRUCK" claims the PCs are "too extreme". Well put the liberals back in power for a few more years and Ontarians will wake up to "extreme" Detroit style. Its called bankruptcy!
During their term in office they have doubled Ontario's debt to $300 billion. On a per capita basis, they've burdened every man, women and child with another $11,000 in debt. At normalized interest rates we are facing $15 billion a year in interest payments. If thats not extreme enough, Wynne promises to keep borrowing more at the rate of $4000 per yr per family.
Mr. Poster 5/27/2014 11:52:12 AM Report

Celia...at least the Liberal leader had the guts to come to this city. YOUR leader(HORWATH) came as close as Sudbury. In fact you had to travel to Sudbury just to meet her.
Justin Tetreault 5/27/2014 11:56:26 AM Report

What is she talking about? Horwath is in the North too. Does that mean the NDP is worried? Or does it mean that both leaders attended a debate in Thunder Bay yesterday and are driving back down south.

The fact that Horwath skipped over Sault Ste. Marie shows that she doesn't think this riding is winnable. Instead Celia has to go meet her in Sudbury.

Doesn't matter who you vote for they will all stick it to you in the A$$ anyways.
Mr E 5/27/2014 2:48:08 PM Report

Liberals create debt, cons balance it. Its a cycle we go through all the time. It's time for some debt reduction. Simple as that.
Justin Tetreault 5/27/2014 3:02:55 PM Report

Libs create debt and Cons balance it?

That would be news to Brian Mulroney, Jean Chretien and Paul Martin.

And after the Liberals left years of surpluses to Stephen Harper, back to massive deficits.
undecided 5/27/2014 4:34:54 PM Report

Mr E Here's a real fact for you Liberals screw up cops are called. Conservatives screw up they call the coroner ie Dudly George, Walkerton ,Listeria
undecided 5/27/2014 4:39:47 PM Report

Wait till Hudak comes in and cuts inspectors and then privatizes them . Maybe he'll cut coroners and privatizes them also so their findings will be whatever the government tells them. So it's all good
All Is Well 5/27/2014 10:40:46 PM Report

Do not think it is close here, Gayle. The last time one of the AU professors said it was close, David won with 52% of the vote. Grasping at straws is what your candidate is doing. Just the benefits to the university from this government alone, should you have you supporting the Liberals. Maybe you should look around the campus and remember what it looked like 12 yrs. ago. Check the enrollment figures, as well.
All Is Well 5/27/2014 10:58:15 PM Report

I guess it's been to long of a day. Should have been you should be supporting the Liberals.
