Ozzie turns up in the funniest places

Wednesday, May 21, 2014   by: SooToday.com Staff

The Ontario PC Party appears a tad confused about who is going to be on the ballot for the Sault riding come June 12.

But we are assured that things will soon be sorted.

As of Wednesday night, if you entered a Sault Ste. Marie postal code into the main page of the PC Party website it told you Ozzie Grandinetti is their candidate for the riding.

Grandinetti, a former Ward 6 city councillor, had expressed interest in the job, saying shortly after the election was called that he was considering a run under the PC banner.

But Grandinetti backed out and Rod Fremlin, a retired firefighter, was announced a day or so later as the party’s rep in the Sault.

When contacted by email late Wednesday, a PC staffer put the discrepancy on the site down to a ‘coding error’ and said the problem was being fixed.

Delve deeper into the PC site and Fremlin is listed as candidate for the Sault, however, bio info was scant as of Wednesday night and the page still contained placeholder text.

You mean a parachute candidate that no one has ever heard of was not the PC's first choice? I'm shocked!

I heard of him first when he played for the NOHA Greyhounds way back in the day. He might not be a star candidate but on the other hand Orizzetti probably should go down with his party who have put Ontario so far in debt that it has become ridiculously scary.

Who? Not voting for either of them, they've got zero experience running anything of substance. Ross or Orazietti thanks!

Don't be fooled by the Cons "lets lower taxes lies". It's not going to happen. Not with this debt everyone is worried about.

I have never not voted in any election, but this time, I am in a conundrum. Right or wrong, I voted for the person that I like the most and who I thought would do the best job for the Sault. Last year, after great debate in my house, I decided to vote with the party that was in power because 'it would be better for the Sault' That has since been derailed. I am sadly thinking that 'why bother' but my conscience tells me after all people went through to give us the right to vote, I should certainly do more homework. Confused??? You bet I am - too many promises not kept by all parties - do you vote for the one that will be least harmful? That makes no sense either!!

HA! If they can't even get the name of their candidate right in a general election, you think they're going to remember that the Sault exists if they form government?

Scary isn't it? Like many on this site, we don't know who to vote for. Been an NDP supporter always but not very happy with the leader or local candidate. We've discussed writing on the ballot OTHER or just nothing which leaves the vote for the Liberals.

Can't believe that Federal Harper is top of the charts. Got to wonder about folks really, even there Federally, who do you vote for when the next election comes around. Justin had better do a better job, Mulcair is the best for the strong opposition (as Jack always said the NDP should be) so there you have it. As for our local municipal election why even bother.

I sometimes don't really care about elections but this year all the cuts effecting the Nursing care of patients and employees jobs in the nursing field. The hospital is over flowing with elderly patient, because there aren't enough nursing homes to take care of them. COME ON PEOPLE THOSE ELDERLY PATIENTS WHO ARE TAKING UP BEDS IN THE HOSPITAL BECAUSE THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH HOMES. NURSES LOOSING THIER JOBS BECAUSE OF CUTS NEED OUR HELP AND ORAZETTI WON'T DO IT AND PC
