Cyclists will also find the "Strava Global Heatmap" and Google Maps "Bicycling" very informative. The Strava Global Heatmap shows where people who use Strava have been cycling almost anywhere in the world, whether it be the Hub Trail around Sault Ste Marie, or places as far afield as Lhasa in Tibet. Google Streetview was expanded again a few weeks ago, both in northern and southern Ontario, so one can see for sure if a road is hard surfaced or gravel. Streetview may be opened up both with Google Maps, Google Earth or using the Strava Global Heatmap.
