Things are sure to move quickly at this eventMonday, May 05, 2014 by: SooToday.com Staff
Similar to “speed dating,” “speed networking” will have participants moving from table to table, making introductions and meeting dozens of new contacts in under an hour.
Admission to the event will be by donation of two non-perishable food items – to be donated to the St. Vincent Food Bank.
All are welcome to attend this event, hosted by a group invested in creating an official Sault Rotaract club.
Rotaract is an international network of young leaders (18-30 years old) taking action for positive change.
Rotaract members are involved in hands-on community and international service projects, plan fun networking and social activities, and are provided professional development and mentorship opportunities.
“Once you’re outside of high school, college or university, it can be hard to find ways to involved and meet people – make connections. Especially if you’re in a new community, or coming back after being away for a while,” said Megan Wigmore, a member of the group starting the Rotaract club.
“The great thing about Rotaract is that there’s something for everyone – whether you’re interested in the community service, the professional development, or just making some new friends.”
The group plans to hold several information sessions for those interested in joining Rotaract in the coming weeks.
For dates and times of these sessions, or for more information on the “speed networking” event, please contact SaultRotaract@gmail.com, or find them at www.facebook.com/SaultRotaract.
