Our MP looks a bit confused. Anyhow, it is good news and hopefully a long term solution will be found. Thanks to all that made this happen.

I'm sure our M.P. was fighting hard for this. Oh Wait! He said he thought the R.R. should maintain the service w/o subsidy.

Step 1 accomplished. Let's see if we can get a plan together to get an alternate funding stream after March 2015; NOHFC? Northern Development and Mines? Trillium?

What's wrong with user pays rather than your vacation or cottage visit subsidized by our tax $$$

learningaswego 4/14/2014 2:24:54 PM Report

now there's a good lefty solution - instead of taking it from one taxpayer funded pot; just transfer it to another taxpayer funded pot.

Biggfinn 4/14/2014 4:28:40 PM Report

Nice to see that the North is also on tap for some form of subsidies for transportation.

After all the Toronto Transit Commission and Go Services are subsidized - fair is fair.
IgnorantNortherner 4/14/2014 4:56:51 PM Report

@pastoutla, what's wrong user pays...everything?

@soowat, did you read the study or are you suggesting that simply because a study was conducted (with taxpayer dollars-SURPRISE!) it must mean the rail service is super important?

@I'm In, keep pretending like one party is less corrupt than any other and you'll continue to have lots of things to complain about
