You know what Thim?
Suck it up buttercup!
Many different types of people believe in many different things!
Just because you don't believe in it doesn't mean sootoday should not support it.
Who in the hell do you think you are, Jesus Christ superstar?????
So keep your closed minded, higher than now opinions to yourself!
Of course sootoday would talk about it because they think outside the box!
You stay in yours and Shutup!

Yeah, I've read stuff about this. They use 'cold readings' and employ a technique called 'fishing' where they ask you certain questions to 'fish' for information about you, then they just repeat it back to you as if they already sensed that about you.
Eg. "I'm sensing the month of January holds an impact on you; something happened in that month that was really important, that touched your emotions in some way".
"hmm, well my mother got married in January".
"Yeah, I could sense something about that month that held an importan event, that it was an emotional event for you", etc. Then they fish for more information beyond that that you give them. Just to make you think that they are real. Because people believe in it so much. There is a theory to this.
The book I read used an illustration where a university teacher(can't remember the name) told the class that he can tell each individual of the class something unique about them and that they would be so amazed by his reading of them. He handed them all the exact same 'personalized' sheet. Most of the class were so amazed about how he told them stuff about themselves and had no idea how he did it. Thing is; they all received the exact same sheet, just different names, as an experiement. It worked!
I wouldn't call them low-lives though. What kind of life-altering decisions do people make as a result of these people. They are liars and frauds, yes. But, they are not destroying anyone else's life. If people pay them for the entertainment, it is not even close to as bad as the casino's, or the alcohol industry, pharmacutical industry, etc. They will destroy more lives than so called 'psychics'.

I have had a reading by Kerri Lynn and she did not even know my name or ask me one question other than "Are you ready" and away we went. It is impossible for her to connect to my loved ones and tell me the information she did without having a "Gift". She is truly amazing. I would suggest visiting her during her time in the Sault.

I'll come out swinging on this nonsense, anyone who believes in this is naive beyond belief.

Jojoe...learn to spell before you give me words of wisdom. Your spelling of psychic is not even an autocorrect!
There are many types who take advantage of all walks of life.
What I'm sayin is what I said...shut your closed minded self.
My heart is wonderful but it does ache for the stupidity of this world.

Sera, this crap has been debunked soooo many times, even on the Johnny Carson show where they exposed the faith healer Peter Popoff who used a micro radio transmitter to tamper with peoples lives. transmitter.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6BoV0AIPl4
How about Uri Geller who could bend spoons with his mind, transmit his thoughts onto negative film or read notes people had written and put in an envelope...all debunked on TV as well.
In any case too many naive people are being taken advantage of because they believe in this...to them it isn't simple entertainment.
canadian_sunshine 4/7/2014 10:55:17 PM Report
Not all people believe, but alot of people do. If you have nothing nice to say then you shouldn't open your mouth. Readings are worth it for some and not for others. Maybe your reading isn't what you want to hear but it could be the truth in what you are thinking. Both are amazing readers and they are so worth the money. If anyone has the chance to go and see Ida and/or Kerrilynn I suggest you make the effort of going. But for those of you who don't know about these types of readings don't knock it. Have a great time in the Sault Kerrilynn!!!

sera..I always have trouble with words starting with psy...I personally believe there are people that have special psychic powers that defy science though I have no desire to go there. I also believe everyone is entitled to their opinion. All joking aside you come across as very angry ...I sense a dark aura around you. Does that mean I'm psychic ? :)

young guy 4/7/2014 11:17:47 PM Report
The letters that your elderly friend is receiving is 'not' from a psychic. Those aren't psychics. Those are fraudulent people who prey upon the elderly. There is a difference. You're just generalizing 'ALL scam artists to be psychics'... REALLY??? Those are more just fake, pretend 'internet' psychics. Real psychics don't make false promises regarding other people's luck or future fortune. At least I don't think so. They are fraudulent, but not to that extent. I could do that to the elderly too if I wanted to. Doesn't mean I'm a psychic.
But like I said before, the casino is 'much, much' worse. They promote greed in basically everybody who attends the casino. And they don't care about how many thousands of families they hurt.
The pharmacutical industry is the same way. Doctors will not tell you the 'reason' why your problem exists, but they will push a prescription on you. I know that for sure. The extent of a family psychians educational knowledge on nutrition is a total of 3-4 hours. Compare that to the total 8 years of medical school, which is more so towards the selling of drugs! I have personally been prescribed drugs that, with my own research and experimentation, proved less valuable than the natural vitamins and herbs that actually prevent it, not just alleviate it. In that case, doctors must be more evil than psychics.

Wow... Tom Brason (as you so proudly continue to declare after socially slandering people you've never met).
I'll be reporting you, as well as having your rude comments removed, but before I do, I would like to put a few things into perspective for you.
The world is full scammers, gimmicks, and "bums", who exist in just about every profession out there. They exist in the government, in medicine, in education, in all forms of religion, gaming corporations, and yes in "fortune telling", etc. I don't think this is news to anybody.
All this being said, not all politicians are corrupt. Neither are all doctors, pharmacists, religious ministers, etc. (And yes, I realize that when I say "religious ministers", that can open up a whole new can of worms depending on your beliefs, faith, or lack thereof). Let's go a step further - If SooToday posted that the Pope was coming to visit Sault Ste. Marie, would you be publicly slandering the idea and calling him a Fraud? Or would you simply mind your own business and carry on with your day, regardless of what you believe in, to avoid the uproar that might cause from people whose outlooks differ from yours? I hope you have better things to do on most days than arguing back and forth with people on SooToday to try and justify your negative and offensive opinions.
My suggestion to you, for future reference, is that you avoid talking negatively about people you've never met on public domains. It's one thing for an 80 year old to receive mail from a so-called psychic that demands $25/week for a "guaranteed lottery winning". But that means this poor soul is probably also sending money away to those Horn-Tooting Caribbean Boat Cruise phone scammers. Please do not generalize by saying that all people who have made a living by reading tea leaves, connecting with the "other side", etc are "bums" and "low lifes". I know Ida personally, as she is my mom and stuff. She's very proud of her business and her abilities. She isn't out to scam anybody; it actually makes me sick to see that someone who has never met her would insinuate such nonsense. And I'll bet if you sat down for a few minutes with Kerrilyn, you might have your mind changed. Maybe not... but see how far your negative, pessimistic energy gets you in life.
If people get their tea leaves read, for example (I'd imagine you've never been to this place that you're talking negatively about), and get what they want from it, then that is awesome. It costs nearly $50 to see a film at the movie theatre these days. That's more of a scam than anything (haha), but I'd imagine that from time to time, you still take your wife/girlfriend/boyfriend/kids to see a new release.
It's entertainment that you're paying for at the end of the day, in either case, my friend. If people are going to take it so seriously that they blow their entire wad on black the next time they're at the casino, that's their own fault. But if people take something away from it that betters their lives, then that's a beautiful thing. If you don't believe in it, then don't go.
Tom, get a hobby if you need to, and please keep your opinions to yourself.

If you only knew who you were talkin to.
I get very annoyed with loose lips that sink ships, as I believe in respecting all ways of life.
Personally I do not know what I believe when it comes to psychics BUt I will NOT put anyone in the sAme boat as people who do harm to others.
As for my aura....it is awesome, and yes it can be dark at times especially due to stupidity, but for the most part AWESOME! Hehehe

Given that none of these comments make sense, I assume someone's comments were removed...
I personally do not believe in psychics, but I figure, if someone can get a 1/2 hr of entertainment for $20, plus get a chance to go out and meet with people who believe the same things... that can't all be bad right? no worse then a casino, or tany tother pay-to-play entertainment. as long as poor decisions aren't made as a result of it, enjoy. you've got the right

Even un popular, unsolicited opinions have a right to be voiced, even if you disagree with them. Go easy on people just because they have something different to say! You aren't always right, maybe you could just let others have their say! It's about doing what works for you! Be a little humble.

I am a believer! There are a lot of quacks/fakes out there, Kerrilyn is NOT one of them. Nobody is forcing anybody to believe in something that they don't believe in but don't knock it until you try it. Kerrilyn changes lives with her Gift!
FYI Kerrilyn is a Medium not a psychic, there is a difference!
