In 1996, Adkins received the Academy of Country Music (ACM) award for Top New Male Artist.

He went on to receive a number of nominations and would win Country Music Television's (CMT) 2008 Male Video of the Year for I Got My Game On, and 2010 Collaborative Video of the Year for Hillbilly Bone.

Adkins is scheduled to perform at Sault Michigan's Kewadin Casino in the DreamMakers Theater on Sunday, July 13, 2014 at 7 p.m.

Nice to see some real country musicians come to town. Chris Young, Keith Urban, Billy Currington... all good acts for a relatively small area like our own.
