Spotted again: Our lynx about town (3 photos)

Monday, March 10, 2014   by: Staff has received the following message and pictures from Local2 account executive Stan Trecroce, who lives on Texas Avenue.

He's back!
The lynx was hiding out beside my house this morning for 45 minutes or so hunting squirrel.
We saw him chase one up a tree and he went up the tree after him!
And then fell out, without a squirrel.

Poor Kitty. Leave him alone, he's's ok if he eats the squirrels...they're a nuisance anyhow.

That beast looks p*ssed off! I wouldn't want to meet him in my yard at night.

I thought I heard they killed him? Is this the same one or different ?
Powerwise 3/10/2014 4:18:32 PM Report

Would somebody please tranquilize that cat so I can kiss it on its snout?

Frio 3/10/2014 4:49:24 PM Report

The lynx in Timmins was shot because of the owners of little dogs running around loose where afraid it might grab one for lunch. Having the the lynx killed was easier than taking responsibility to keep their useless dogs away from wildlife that has every right to be there.

Pure awesomeness. It is so great to live in a northern town and be able to enjoy nature right in our own backyards. Thanks for sharing the pics! :-)

Nice!! Is this the same one @Beej?
Beej 3/10/2014 6:43:40 PM Report

It could be the same furball, BUT, hard to say for sure because there are at least two of them around.
A friend saw one on the edge of the bush near Second line and the Pine extension shortly after I saw the one on Queen near the golf course.

Lynx are a the top of their cycle this year. he's only here for food. if you leave him alone, he'll be gone in the spring. the snow is heavy in the bush right now.
