Up the names, no?
Aren't we worthy of protection for ours even tho we don't possess a badge and gun?

I wonder how long it will take before people start whining about cops wasting tax dollars again. Yeah I agree good job officers. Keep it up

@raeann.childs while yes we deserve to know the names, people are innocent until proven guilty and therefore releasing the persons name before a verdict is reach would harm the persons reputation IF they are in fact innocent

Well in that case no ones names should be posted in Sootoday.

How many times have they mentioned the names of people charged with Imparied ,theft and Domestics from the previous night months before their court date.

No names until proven guilty in court, LOL since when?

@ rae.ann:

The suspect was arrested, charged, and returned to Sudbury. He is not a threat to the safety of your children at this time. His name is irrelevant unless you are just I admit I often am when I read the police news releases on sootoday.

As has been posted hundreds of times before when others like yourself complain to sootoday about the contents of police reports: it clearly reads "NEWS RELEASE" across the top of the article. That indicates it was not composed by sootoday staff but was prepared by the communications officer from the Sault Ste. Marie Poilice force. The police have reasons for when they do and do not release names.

It is against the law to publish the names of people involved in domestics and you are mistaken if you think you have read them on this website. The name would not have been provided by the police.

Good.. keep em in jail! There's no place for someone like that lurking around in the public. They should've posted his name, so we know who to look out for to keep our children safe.
